What a summer this is going to be! You have a new ice cream maker and it does all kinds of things. It makes ice cream in any flavor you decide to mix up. But it does not only make ice cream. As the season goes and different fruits start getting ripe you can either make ice cream or sorbets or fruit flavored drinks with your ice maker. The sky is the limit. You will be a hit at every party. If you want to have a cocktail party, the ice cream maker can handle that too. It is wonderful for making mixed drinks by the quart.

To get you off to a good start with your ice cream maker, here is a recipe for raspberry ice cream.

Raspberry ice cream

2 cups fresh or frozen raspberries
2 cups whipping cream
1 cup half-and-half cream
1 cup sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Place the raspberries in a blender; cover and process on medium high speed until chopped. Combine all ingredients in the cylinder of an ice cream freezer. Stir in sugar till dissolved. Follow the manufacturers instructions.
