Hamilton Beach

Hamilton Beach makes low priced freezer bowl ice cream makers.  They are great for people who are just getting into self ice cream production and who want to try out their recipes without spending a lot of money on more expensive makers that they may not ever use again.

Every Ice Cream maker has its trade offs.  Some may be a little noisy, some may be hard to clean, others might just be the wrong color.  You want a machine that makes high quality ice cream without being so hard to use that you never make ice cream.  You want an ice cream maker that has a good warranty but one that won’t totally break your budget.  There are many other good brand other than the ones listed here, Lello and Kitchen-aid both make fantastic Ice Cream Makers as well.

Follow the instructions on your ice cream maker no matter what model you get.  A freezer bowl model won’t work at all if you don’t give it enough time in the freezer to freeze before use.  Hand crank models don’t work if you crank them too slowly or too quickly.  Automatic models must be cleaned properly before use.
